The key to a happy life rest with a healthy heart. Old or young, if you do not take of your heart, you are bound to run into chronic heart problems.

There are various ways we are endangering out hearts. Some of the factors are incorrigible; for example, you cannot change your environment and the pollutants that you breathe in.

Weight is important

Cigarettes promote the formation of plaques in the blood vessels that then impede the blood flow. This can cause problems with circulation, leading to secondary issues like hypertension and erectile dysfunction.

Hence, to promote health and protecting your heart, give up smoking. Even the vapes are not good for your heart and blood supply, so give all such habits up.

More fruits and vegetables please

To keep your heart healthy, you need around 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Not only do they offer fiber, but they also have antioxidants and other nutrients as well.

Put down sodium

Even though the salt tastes so good, but you should be careful about its consumption. Too much of salt increases the risk of hypertension.

To cut back on salt, you not only have to cut back on the table salt, but also read the labels of the processed foods, sauces etc., as they also sneak in a lot of salt. Similarly, you might also need to eat more often at home, since when you eat out, you cannot moderate the salt intake.
